Day 4
Context: Micah 5: 1-15
“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.” Micah 5:2 ESV
Through the prophet Micah, God promises that an everlasting ruler will come forth from Bethlehem who will rule over Israel and all nations will learn to worship God.
Jesus was born in an insignificant place, in lowly shelter to bring about His Kingship, forevermore. He came forth from humble beginnings although He was in the throne of heaven, before. It is in the small and unnoticeable events and circumstances that God brings about His greatest acts. In our daily living if we will listen attentively, we will find that many times it’s in the more obscure things that God is glorified.
Lord, thank you that you sent your Son, our Savior to bring about your salvation for all mankind. Help me to see you in the obscurity of my daily living, and glorify you in the small acts of obedience, which is your will for my life.
