Matthew 24: 26-28
“For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:27
In Matthew 24 Jesus warns to not believe someone if they tell you the Messiah is somewhere, and don’t bother to look, don’t believe it. For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines in the west, that is how it will be when the Son of Man returns. And just like the gathering of vultures indicate a dead body is near, these signs indicate the end is also close at hand.
The Lord came in the flesh, but when He returns He will come in all His glory. We are not to look for Him as though He will return and be among us as He was when He first entered the world and revealed Himself and then again, after His resurrection.
No, but know He tells us when these signs appear He is ready to return, suddenly, without warning. So we need to give heed to the signs He has revealed through His Word, and be prepared. For the end of the world is passing from life to death, but the Kingdom of God is coming soon, and Christ will establish His rule forever. Those who wait for Him will also reign with Him as His Bride. (Matthew 24:45-46)
