“His Abide”
Summary – Reflection (Revelation) – Prayer
Context: Matthew 24/ Matthew 24: 20-22
“In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’ s chosen ones.” Matthew 24:22
S- Jesus is telling the disciples about what will be the sign of the end of the age and His return, He says pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath, for there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. In fact unless that day of calamity is shortened not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.
R- God is always mindful of His Chosen- those who continue to trust Him and place their faith in His Son, and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even in the midst of the worse circumstances He rescues them and shortens their trial. Those who abide in the mighty shadow of the Lord will endure, bringing others to faith.
This reminds me of the many times in the Bible, like the flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Passover, the time of Esther, and Daniel and the Lions, God was faithful to deliver them all.

I have experienced God’s deliverance numerous times, not because of my worthiness but because of Christ’s shed blood. Even in childbirth, He shortened my labor when I remembered to call on the Lord. Genesis 4:1

I once stepped on a landmine of condemnation, and the Lord removed me from the pit, and the net. He has rescued me so many times. He is faithful to rescue us from all our troubles, and bring glory to Himself.

“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.” 1 John 2:27
