“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
"She puts her hand to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hand to the needy," Proverbs 31: 19-20 ESV
Scripture Context: Proverbs 31
Scripture Focus: Proverbs 31: 19-20
S- She puts her hands to the distaff and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her hands to both the needy and the poor.
R– She has a grasp of the tools, gifts and abilities God has given her and is compassionate to not only meet the needs of her family but those who are in need and are less fortunate and poor. She’s always in the process of creating something good. When we abide in Christ He gives us compassion to reach out to others. This reminds me of the widow Dorcas whom was loved by so many because she would make clothes for them. When she died, the Apostle Peter was called to her bedside and raised her from the dead. The excellent wife is first the Bride of Christ, and she abides in His love. So whether a woman is single, widowed or married, she can fulfill Christ’s commandment to love others when she abides in His love. John 15: 1-17
Cross References- Acts 9: 36-42 , Luke 6:38
P- Lord, let me use the gifts and abilities you have given me to meet the needs of my husband, my children and their families and to reach out in compassion to help those who are in need, poor or less fortunate than me. I am truly blessed and want to be a blessing to others for your sake; blessed to be your blessing so others can know of your salvation and love.
