Day 22 Luke 1: 26-38
“In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.” Luke 1: 26-27
God designates the person, place and time which He sends forth his messenger to communicate His divine purpose. No one can go and accomplish anything of God unless they are sent. As believers, we are sent to proclaim the gospel. It is God who ordains the timing, and the place and the persons to whom the message is sent. Gabriel was sent on behalf of God’s authority. He did not represent himself, but as He expressed to Zechariah, who doubted His Word; He was sent by God. There is a time and place where everyone has the opportunity to hear the gospel message and be saved. It is not by man’s authority it is proclaimed, but by the sovereignty and authority of God alone.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending the message of your gospel for me to hear on that fateful day. You made my heart ready, and I received it with faith. The place was in a Sunday School class, I was 12 years old, the messenger was my Sunday School Teacher, and the understanding of all that it meant was through your Holy Spirit.
