Day 19 1 John 4: 13-16
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” 1 John 4: 14
Jesus’ life was not hidden, nor was it obscure that only a few knew of His appearance, Rather, there was physical and spiritual evidence for the generation who witnessed His birth, life, and death. John the Baptist declared Him after witnessing the dove ascending from heaven upon Him and hearing the voice of God declaring Him as His Son. He appeared not only to His disciples following His resurrection but also to at least five hundred others.
Furthermore, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and all the other places mentioned in the Bible still exist. The coming of the Son of God, Jesus Christ was foretold long ago by the prophets, who testified of Him by all that He said and did. (Luke 24: 25-27)
The witness to believers today is the Holy Spirit Who testifies of Jesus Christ the moment a person comes to faith. It is undeniable, and miraculously evident that all which was written about Jesus from Genesis to Revelation is no longer a story but reality, being spiritually understood and discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14)
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving us so many witnesses concerning your Son through your Word, your Holy Spirit and the physical evidence that still exist. And now, let us also testify that He truly is our Savior whom God has sent.
“They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32
