“For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30
Recently, my elderly friend fell while walking to her bathroom during the night. Not only was she severely bruised, and in pain, but she had shortness of breath. Her heart was beating erratically, with surges of her heart rate going up and down (afib). Her pacemaker was unable to get her back into the natural rhythm, and so the only recommendation was a heart “reset” ( cardioversion).
Many times the stress of our culture can affect the pace of our walk. But Jesus has promised if we will let Him, He will help carry our load as we learn to trust in His Word and His Love. Instead of moving erratically in this walk with Christ, we can connect with our Savior and find peace and rest.
( Proverbs 3: 5-6 )
After my friend received the cardioversion, I have noticed she is no longer out of breath and is growing physically, emotionally and spiritually stronger every day as she is also learning to Trust.
I am a person who analyzes till I paralyze, an overthinker, who is not present, but rather my thoughts are wild about what I should do, didn’t do, and haven’t done yet. I can be so distracted with these thoughts, I miss the Lord’s cues as to where to go next (AFib). (Philippians 4: 6-8)
But just like my friend, whose artificial pacemaker failed to do the trick, I was in need of the Lord’s touch which reset my thinking while healing my heart and directing my thoughts (Word).
Now Jesus and I are locked-step together, moving at a natural pace.
And its all done by following Him in fullness of grace (1 John 2:6)
Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. John 5:19
Such a confirmation Mary as I was listening to something else. I pray for Your rhythm today!!!
