Context: Ephesians 1:1-23
Focus: Ephesians 1: 3-4
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,(My Emphasis) just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.” Ephesians 1: 3-4
“In Christ” speaks of the position of those who make up the Body of Christ. Those in faith are located in His spiritual Body. We as believers are sealed by His Blood through faith in His Salvation and are in close relationship with God the Father, through His Son. We are in the womb of Christ’s heart, WHO is in the bosom of the Father. ( John 1:18)
“In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.”
John 14:20
If we are in Christ Jesus, then we also partake of all the heavenly blessings inherited as children of God. As Children of the Living God our IDENTITY is in Christ Jesus, and in Him, ALONE.
We are Chosen to be Holy
We are In the Family of God
We are Purchased by the Blood of God’s Son
We are Recipients of His Kindness
We are Spiritually Wise with Understanding
We are Recipients of the Mystery and Revelation of Jesus Christ
We are Always In His Plan
We are Under the Authority of Jesus Christ Who is the Head
We are Guaranteed Salvation
We are Recipients of His Holy Spirit
WE are Identified as Belonging to Christ Jesus, and to only HIM and No One Else.
As Believers, Our identity is not where we find ourselves in any circumstance, whether good or bad, but our identity is in God – Christ Jesus who through the work of His Holy Spirit promises to complete the work He began in us and to conform us into the image of His Son.
CR – Ephesians 1:10, Ephesians 2:6,
Lord, thank you for showing me to focus on what your Word says. Your Word is Truth. It is how you have defined me that makes me know, I am your child, alone, and will remain your child forever more.
Abba Father!
” And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8: 38-39
