Reflection
Jesus made it absolutely clear we are not to be obsessed with His Coming. We are not to predict, speculate or focus on the “When” but the Why, the How and What of the event. What He has made clear throughout scripture is to be prepared. One thing we know it will occur suddenly, as He appears.
Since the time Jesus spoke of His Returning there have been some giving a date for this event. But we know by their predictions – giving a specific date, they expose the fact they either do not know the Word or are deceived. Being so “occupied”, they reject the Word and neglect what Christ has called us to do.
So how as believers are we to prepare? Jesus said to be on the alert in prayer. We are to abide in His Word and His love and be found thus doing His Will when He appears.
