Blessed to be a Blessing

His Abide

Matthew 7:12

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you,
do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”

Reflection– What a profound statement, encompassing what love is all about. Nothing can be added or taken away from this truth, that is, if we keep in mind how our actions and words affect others, and to want for others what we would want for ourself, then we fulfill the commandment to love. It’s God’s commandment that we love one another and if we do we love ourselves.  And in this we glorify our heavenly Father. It’s  sowing a spiritual seed, guaranteed to be harvested, taken into the treasures of our wealth.

Jesus fulfilled the law and all that the prophets said concerning Himself. There was no selfish motive in anything He did or said, but only to bring a blessing, and not a curse. Even His correction was bound up in love, for it delivered the one who would receive it a blessing, which blessed others and also oneself.

My Prayer: Dear Lord, you teach us to love others as we love ourselves, and in that, revelation,  we become a blessing to not only others but also ourselves. Thank you for this Word, I pray, I will hide it away in my heart so I may remember to do good.

About Doula Faith

I am first and foremost a child of God, "born again" into the Kingdom of God through faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has called me to be an "Encourager" of faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I have learned through some painful trials of His unconditional love. The apple of my eye, is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Living Word.
