“His Abide” – His Reflection

Painting by Brandi Ramirez with graphic Image of Jesus

“For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.  For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.”
James 1: 23-24

I look in a mirror
What do I see?
I want to see Jesus
Instead of me.

I may talk about running
Or want to run
But I’ll never be a runner
Until I run.

I may talk about Jesus
And want to know Him
But I’ll never reflect His Image
Until I practice His Word

The Word goes in and cleans house
The Word goes in and puts everything in Order
The Word makes windows so I can see out
And others can see in
Then they see Jesus abiding in me.

Question:  If a man goes to college to study engineering but never uses it as his occupation, would you consider him an engineer? And if one who knows the word of God but doesn’t practice it, would you consider a Christian, and follower of Jesus Christ? Luke 6:46

Prayer: Lord, let us not just be hearers of your Word but Doers as well, so we can see Jesus. In Jesus Name, Amen.

What’s your reflection, concerning this, please let us hear from you?

About Doula Faith

I am first and foremost a child of God, "born again" into the Kingdom of God through faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has called me to be an "Encourager" of faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I have learned through some painful trials of His unconditional love. The apple of my eye, is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Living Word.
