Hands that Shed Innocent Blood

“There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Proverbs 6: 16-19
(Matthew 19: 17-19)

I can think of nothing as innocent and more precious as an unborn child. Yet in 1973 the Supreme Court made it legal for women to hire a butcher and destroy the most precious, innocent being on earth. And so, the malicious act snowballed into what we are now facing – abortion throughout any stage of pregnancy and beyond.

The abortion market has now become a lucrative business branching off to sales of the carcasses for research, cosmetics and scientific experimentation as an established commodity in the American economy.

We are in a technological age whereby microscopes, ultrasounds, imaging give an inside view on what was once impossible to witness. So our accountability for the slaughter of innocent human life is even greater. So it is with the advancement of technology we have exposed our own sin.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

In the late 60’s I trained and worked as a clinical lab technician at a local hospital. I remember seeing what was kept as a specimen within a jar, the body of a completely developed baby at the gestational age of only three months. I was amazed to see, every body part perfectly formed and the arm raised to the mouth as though to suck the thumb. In those days I was fascinated with the science, feeling no compassion for this premature being. When I showed it to a co-worker, she turned away, saying, “After you have a child, you won’t look at it the same way”. She was right, compassion for unborn babies came after experiencing pregnancy and birth for the first time. Similarly, when I showed a pro-abortionist (pro-choice) pictures of what an aborted baby looked like, he also turned away, not because of compassion but in order to escape accountability.

After giving birth to my son, in 1974, the Lord put on my heart to start donating my ample supply of breast milk to sick and premature infants. What followed was a mother’s milk bank called “Milk for Life”. I was always amazed when I entered the neonatal unit to see these little infants struggling for life.

It turned out; the neonatologist needed breast milk to protect these vulnerable infants from infection . Breast milk is easily digestible and contains antibodies and other protective constituents. Now it is customary to feed premature babies with breast milk instead of specialized infant formula in the majority of neonatal units.

One of the first premature babies to receive the breast milk weighed only 1 pound. As a newspaper article reported in an interview with the hospital’s neonatologist, it was the breast milk that contributed to saving her life.

My involvement with premature babies made me passionate about ending legal abortion and so I became pro-life. I joined a pro-life organization and became knowledgeable concerning the issue. When I found out aborted babies were subject to experimentation,
I contacted my congressman to put an end to it. There was a law at the time prohibiting experimentation on human life. In my research I also discovered fetal tissue was being sold as collagen (human tissue protein) used in skin creams and cosmetics.

So therefore, the recent exposure of marketing fetal tissue from aborted babies is not something new, it’s been occurring for many years.

Neonatology is “the branch of medicine concerned with the development and disorders of newborn babies”. Let us reason together: if the science of neonatology recognizes these premature infants born before full term as “babies” how is it abortionists refer to them as sub-human fetuses? In the neonatology unit of every hospital these premature infants are treated with dignity and respect as the doctors, nurses, and parents do everything to preserve their lives.

As the science of neonatology advances, so does the science of obstetrical care. There are other alternatives to saving the life of the mother where they say abortion is the only option (simply not true). In fact, the late term abortions pose extreme risk to the health of the mother. Incidently, in the case of rape and incest – two wrongs never make something right. In an abortion following the act of rape or incest; both the woman and the unborn child’s life is violated. What can bring healing to the mother is to give birth to the innocent child and choose adoption. Whereby, the woman has peace of mind and a couple receives the gift of a child.

Many women and men are suffering physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually today as a result of taking the life of an unborn child.

God has revealed to us how precious and important we are even within the womb. We cannot go on destroying what is precious in His sight without the consequences of certain judgment. (Psalm 139)

Make no mistake about it; the God who has created the universe and every living being has created mankind in His own Image. We are not animals, we are human beings created to have fellowship with Him for all eternity. Yet many times animals receive more protection with laws protecting them throughout even their gestations.
(Genesis 1-2)
See: “An Unnatural Affection” concerning the protection of animals vs protection of children on this blog.

“But God’s Word states: “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet. (Hebrews 2: 6-8)

Jesus Christ came to show us our sin, to tell us the truth, so we could be forgiven and reconciled to a Holy God. Anyone who repents of their sin, believing in God’s salvation is forgiven and has passed from death to eternal life. If we confess Jesus Christ as our Savior, believing He is the Son of God who suffered for our transgressions on the cross, and believe God has raised Him from the dead, we are saved from His eternal wrath and judgment. Love is not love unless it punishes the unjust and saves the innocent.
(Romans 10: 8-10, Romans 1: 18-32)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

And whoever turns from their sinning, accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior is proclaimed innocent and justified in God’s eyes because Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for all sin. (Romans 3:22, 1 John 1:7)

All sins are forgiven because Jesus Christ’s blood covers it. There is only one sin not forgiven and that sin is unbelief in God’s great salvation. (1 John 1:9)

Let us turn from our sins, choosing life, asking God to forgive us, excepting His free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, so we and our children may live.

And for the woman who repents of an abortion with faith in Jesus Christ, she will live to see her child in heaven.
(2 Chronicles 7:13-14, 1 Peter 4:17)

“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30: 19-20

Note: The most effective action is through diligent prayer. It is Gods will to save innocent life and those who willfully or through ignorance take the life of an unborn child. Just recently I witnessed the closing of a local abortion clinic through the diligent prayers of men and women who stood outside to pray. I did not stand outside but also stood in the gap by interceding and asking the Lord to bring a heavy conviction upon those who enter the clinic. The Lord will answer these prayers because it is His Will. Praise the Lord for His love and mercy!!!

Dear Lord , please turn women back to protecting their womb through sexual morality and through coming to the knowledge of the truth; abortion not only destroy’s the life of their innocent child but their life as well. Amen

I thought when the Truth was revealed concerning the sale of baby body parts and how this lucrative business keeps it going on, the American Public would rise up in protest, but just as slavery was protected because of its financial gain so is the abortion mill. Please pray for our return to protecting the innocent before Gods judgment takes place.

You probably already know this, but just incase you didn’t I thought it would be interesting to add to “all lives matter”, whether conceived through rape, incest or simply an unwanted pregnancy. . . James Robison, Founder of Life Outreach International Ministries was the end result of a baby conceived from the violent act of rape. His mother, a Christian woman, knew that all life was precious, and that the Lord knew each of us before we were even born. She carried James to term, and thank God she did. He and his wife have been providing clean water to people in poverty stricken areas for years; but most importantly, preaching the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
