A New Thing

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

If anything observable disputes the theory of evolution it is the metamorphosis of the butterfly. It doesn’t take thousands or millions of years for the transformation to take place but a few days.  God had predestined the change to take place and it is in the DNA. Scientists who bother to use the scientific method to examine this phenomenon, have discovered that there is nothing left of the former creature, its form is completely dissolved.
(Romans 8:29

And so it is true for the one who has been born again. “The old has passed away and the new has come.” But unlike the caterpillar through God’s design makes that transformation without hesitation, we have a choice.
We can either go forward in this new life or hold onto the old. Unfortunately, the old ways of doing things are incompatible with the new. It’s like trying to mix water with oil. If we add anything to God’s grace, we can’t grow. Like that butterfly, our confidence in the flesh has to dissolve before we can soar with confident wings. (Philippians 3: 8-11)

I have always struggled with who I believe I am and what God has made me to be. When I dig deeper into God’s Word I find the nourishment I need to grow, and as my mind and my spirit begin to agree, I can also see. (Romans 12:2)

Just recently as I was studying God’s Word on how He was doing a “New Thing”, the new thing happened to me. Suddenly, I not only knew what His Word said, His Word was setting me free!  (John 8:36)

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

About Doula Faith

I am first and foremost a child of God, "born again" into the Kingdom of God through faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has called me to be an "Encourager" of faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I have learned through some painful trials of His unconditional love. The apple of my eye, is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Living Word.
