Context: Isaiah 30:1-33
Focus: Isaiah 30: 15
“For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling.”
8252 (Strong’s Hebrew) – quietness: to be quiet or undisturbed, calm, peaceful, at peace, rest, still
When the Israelites refuse to listen to God and repent, they are threatened by their enemy, and so they turn to Egypt’s Pharaoh for help. But God in His Sovereignty says, that only returning back to Him and resting in Him will they be saved. They will find their strength in having confidence that God is in control and is ready to help them when they begin to trust.
Presently, I find myself in a circumstance beyond my control. There is no clear direction as to what to do. There is turmoil, strife and uncertainty; so I’ve gone to God asking for wisdom and help. He has shown me to stop manipulating the situation and trust.
Philippians 4: 5-6
One evening I heard His small still voice, just say, “Believe I am for you.”
I am quiet now, giving no defense, growing confident as I go forward, in every step.
I am a fix it person, but this I cannot fix. I am not trying to figure it out, anymore, nor looking for someone’s help or solutions, I am just quiet, strengthened and at rest.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
When He is ready, He will still the tempest, stand up and say, enough is enough, and I will be stronger, because I leaned on Him, in Him only do I trust.
Isaiah 40: 30-31, Isaiah 64:4
