“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.” Galatians 4: 4-7
Recently, I purchased an online gift for my sister. As I began to track the location of the package, I was notified it would be delivered by a specific day and time. But then suddenly, everything came to a halt, and at the end of that day, the package was not delivered, and there were no more notifications when it would arrive.
This above circumstance reminds me of how unlike mankind, I can depend on God’s Word to deliver all His promises on time.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:19
With God’s own signature – His Word – He promised a Savior to redeem us through payment by His own blood. It is impossible for us to purchase it ourselves, we don’t have enough credit, it is priceless, for it requires the costly sacrifice of one who never sinned. Therefore, His promise could only come signed, sealed, and delivered through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son. Only Jesus Christ was qualified to pay the price, and He did it by his shed blood, crucified as full payment for the sins of the world.
(Leviticus 17:11, 1 John 2:2, Hebrews 9:12, Isaiah 53:5,Hebrews 9:22)
When God promised the world a Savior He provided also a way to track the exact time and place of His birth. The gift of His Son, Jesus Christ was prophesized (promised) to be delivered in the town of Bethlehem. The wise men tracking His birth, followed the Star, and found it to be true. Jesus was not detained, but in the fulness of time was delivered through means of a virgin Birth according to God’s promise. (John 3:16, Micah 5:2, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 2: 1-12, Romans 5:6-11)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
God’s Gift Purchased by His Son’s Blood
Jesus Christ purchased the gift of eternal salvation by His shed blood, not just for one, but for everyone. But He guarantees delivery only through faith:
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2: 8-9
Are you in the right place where you can receive what God has already purchased for your salvation? Have you repented of your sins? If you are in the place of trusting in His Word, then you can receive the confirmation of your faith and the answer to your prayer. God’s gift from heaven was purchased by His Son, Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago. This gift comes not by man’s delivery but through God’s Holy Spirit. God is the messenger of this great gift and His salvation is for you.
(John 1, Philippians 2:5-11)
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 16:16-17
God’s Promises are always signed (by His Word), sealed (guarranteed by His blood) and delivered (by His Holy Spirit) and on time. You can Trust in His Word to do exactly what He has promised. He purchased your salvation with His shed blood, with the promise to deliver you out of this world into His Everlasting Kingdom. Have you trusted God at His Word?
(John 3, Romans 10:8-10, Matthew 6:33)
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14
Final Note: The gift purchased for my sister, was finally delivered as expected. It occured, as soon as I stopped tracking it with my anxious thoughts. When she inspected the contents, she found everthing there; all which was promised and purchased on her behalf.
