A Great Light

Isaiah 9: 1-7

Nothing is more beautiful when in darkness there is found a great light. Many ships have been guided safely to port by the beaming tower lighting their way.  It has been so from the beginning; God separating Light from darkness illuminating the way every day.
(Genesis 1:1-5, 14-18, John 1: 1-5, Psalm 46:1)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1 1-5

When Jesus began revealing Himself, it was first along the Sea of Galilee among both Jews and Gentiles.  Isaiah prophesied this event and it took place soon after Jesus was tempted by the devil.  (Matthew 4:15-16)

“The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.” Isaiah 9: 1-2

At the birth of Jesus, there was a great light, shining the way for those seeking to worship the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. It was God’s way of guiding the Men from the East to find the place where Christ could be found. They traveled by land, and the star from heaven shone brightly making light unto their path. (Micah 5:2-3)

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

Jesus came into the World to give sight to the blind and to deliver everyone walking in darkness.

“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.  He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—  children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
John 1: 1-5, 9-13

When we gaze upon our trees this Christmas illuminated by the many lights, let’s remember the light that never fades and leads the way to eternal life- the One Who Created Light, is the Light and shines brightly in every heart receiving Him as Lord and Savior.

Just as the star from heaven was used to point the way, let it also be our pleasure and purpose guiding the way out of darkness and into His marvelous light through our lives and through His Word.  (John 1: 1-5)

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16

Merry Christmas to All
and to All
a
Great Light!

He has called me to be an "Encourager" of faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I have learned through some painful trials of His unconditional love. The apple of my eye, is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Living Word.
