Definition:  Paradise

1.heaven, as the final abode of the righteous.
2.an intermediate place for the departed souls of the righteous awaiting resurrection.
3.( often initial capital letter ) Eden ( def. 1 ) .
4.a place of extreme beauty, delight, or happiness.
5.a state of supreme happiness; bliss.

As I sat on my dock behind my home on the lake, I thought to myself, “it doesn’t get much better than this.” I was privy to a front row seat witnessing God’s magnificent spectacle of the “Sun’s Rising” as I held a cup of coffee in one hand and the Lord’s Word in the other.

When I think of the word paradise, I realize it can also be a “state of being.” For the Lord promises that when we leave this earth we will join Him in a place where there is nothing negative but all is positive and well.  This was His promise to the thief who hung on a cross beside Him on that fateful day when suddenly the dying man recognized Him as Savior and said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” [i]

So I’ve discovered that paradise for the believer is not only in the future tense but exists whenever we are in His presence recognizing and acknowledging the magnificent, King, the Son of God, as “I AM”.

God’s Word says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” [ii]

About Doula Faith

I am first and foremost a child of God, "born again" into the Kingdom of God through faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has called me to be an "Encourager" of faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I have learned through some painful trials of His unconditional love. The apple of my eye, is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Living Word.
