Communication with what? How dangerous is that?

God Consciousness vs. The pursuit of  opening the third eye to “Nothingness”

There is no such thing as a third eye but rather a false pursuit of “spirit consciousness”.

Recently, I’ve been aware of another spiritual deception called the “Opening of the Third Eye”. Many westerners are being introduced to this through the practice of spiritual meditation sometimes accompanied by Yoga. Yoga is often introduced as a form of exercise for strengthening the muscles through stretches  accompanied with spiritual meditation which is an eastern religious practice.

Counterfeit vs the Truth

Satan is aware of the “God Consciousness” in every human being. He is determined to deflect from the reality of God’s existence by filling the spiritual void within us. It is God’s plan to reveal Himself, it is Satan’s plan to camouflage His truth with a blurred and distorted vision or counterfeit of Who God is and His relationship to mankind.

Counterfeit: “That which is made in imitation of something, with a view to deceive by passing the false for the true; as, the bank note was a counterfeit.” (Bible Hub)

“And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:4

“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4

New Age Spiritualism
The quest for spiritual awareness is associated with Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sufism mysticism and the “New Age” phenomenon which incorporates all spirituality.  It is a deception which promises knowledge of “self” and becoming one with the Universe while making void the existence of a personal God. But God’s existence is manifested in His creation, His Word and in His Son.

 Proof of God’s Existence and Love

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” Romans 1:18-20

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16-18

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

God has a purpose and a plan for Our Life

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

The Divine Truth and Satan’s Counterfeit

With every “Divine Truth”, Satan seeks to produce an attractive counterfeit or lie. The centrality of opening one’s third eye, is pursuing the “I am” or “self” by experiencing “Nothingness”. How absurd! It’s also a journey which gives no guarantee of what you will find. So how do you pursue that which you do not understand and ultimately accomplishes nothing but a fixation on self. How dangerous is that?

 The Truth: “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:27-28

Pathway to Death: “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” Proverbs 14:12
Pathway to Life: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

“I am”: God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites:

The Truth: Mankind was created in the image of God (male and female) and in the pursuit of God, mankind (male and female)discovers who they are in relationship to their CREATOR.

Seek God for Yourself: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

The Pursuit of Self

But to pursue oneself is to pursue the deception which caused Satan to fall and tempted Eve and all mankind to rebel against God; opening their eyes to self-centeredness instead of choosing to trust God.
(Genesis 3:1-7, John 3:16, 2 Timothy 3: 1-5)

The Lie: By getting in touch with one’s inner self- a whole world opens up where one can somehow, by opening the inner spiritual eye, through exercises of meditations, visualizations and oneness with nature, achieve inner wisdom and knowledge which leads to perceptions beyond one’s physical eye.

The Truth: “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18

So, who is behind this promise of wisdom in the pursuit of opening one’s spiritual eye?

It goes back to the very beginning when mankind first believed the lie:

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5

Only God Can Open Our Spiritual Eyes

It’s a false deceptive narcissistic concept originating with the counterfeits of Satan, propagating the notion that through transcending physical awareness, it is possible to transform oneself into a holistic human being and discover one’s true self. But God’s Word tells us only through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ can our eyes be open to the Truth of who God is and our purpose in life:

“For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” Ephesians 1 18-19

“To open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’ Acts 26:18

“You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons.” Isaiah 42:7

Just as a caterpillar is designed and predestined to conform and change into a new creature, those who come to trust God having faith in Jesus Christ, are circumcised of the flesh, “born again” with God’s divine nature through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit; Whose work is to sanctify our spirit, guide us in His ways, conforming us ultimately into His image and upon His completed work, we will see Him as He is.

The Pathway to Life

The most menacing element of the delusion of the “third eye”; it makes void of God the creator and His sovereignty in the affairs of mankind.  With the rejection of the existence of a God who is Good, as revealed in His Word, everything in contrast to the Truth seeks to enter in. These are demonic beings who lead the pursuer of self, astray. But through faith in Jesus Christ, whom God has sent to reveal His divine nature and procure our salvation, we can know the Truth and the Way to eternal life. By receiving and believing this truth, we are then sealed with God’s Holy Spirit, the guarantee of our salvation and eternal life. Once a believer is sealed, the lies of Satan can never persuade.  Other pathways lead to eternal darkness, judgment, torment and destruction, but God has provided the way, the only pathway to Himself through faith in Jesus Christ.

If we seek a pathway to ourselves, we are left with the emptiness of self. Nothing can satisfy our spiritual hunger and thirst; our most basic spiritual needs, but God.

Guided in Truth

We were made in the image of God, but because of sin; which is rebellion against God, we were separated from Him, and instead of being guided by God, we sought to live a life apart from Him, which means death, because there is no life apart from the presence of the One Who is Life and gives it.
(Genesis 2:7, John 20:22, Ephesians 2: 1-2)

Jesus is God manifested in the flesh

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5

God Watches over those Who Believe

God has His eye (divine guidance) on those who love Him and through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, have received His Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is by faith in His Son, believing His Word, we are guided into all Truth. There is only One Truth concerning Life and only Jesus Christ has revealed it through His death and resurrection.
(John 3:16, John 14:6, John 14:26, John 10:28-30, Romans 10: 8-13)

The Apple of His Eye

Those who love God and have faith in His salvation through Jesus Christ become the Apple of His Eye. And His teachings become the Apple of the eyes of those whose eyes have been opened to the TRUTH, becoming One with God and one another.
( Psalm 17:8, Proverbs 7:2, Zechariah 2:8, John 17:21)

“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” Job 42:5

“Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

Believing in Jesus Christ Opens Our Eyes

If we acknowledge our sins and are sorry and repent, then we make ourselves ready to receive the Truth about Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our sins. God is Holy, and only those who repent of their sins and confess Christ as Savior are forgiven. We can not make ourselves perfect or worthy of His love, He gives it freely (unconditionally) through believing in His Son, Jesus Christ who was crucified and punished for our sins, and was raised from the dead to demonstrate His power over death and give the gift of eternal life. For there is no greater love, than to lay down your life for another.
(Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 10:8-13, John 9:25)

 Merchandise of the Deceivers

If it is our aim to seek after ourselves rather than seeking God, our creator, Whom the Word has revealed, we leave ourselves wide open to deception and make ourselves merchandise of false prophets. Those who are in Christ have no part in darkness.

“Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.” 1 John 4:1

“But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.  Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.” 2 Peter 2:1-3

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

 Spiritual Guides vs The Holy Spirit

Spiritual Guides: (counterfeit): in the process of “opening the third eye” the seeker is told to get the assistance of a spiritual guide to reach this higher spiritual plane. These are supposedly, human gurus or spirit guides channeled through meditation. This is Satan’s counterfeit to God’s Holy Spirit (Truth)

Holy Spirit (Truth)“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17

“As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit – just as it has taught you, remain in him.” 1 John 2:27

Counterfeit Tools and God’s Truth

 Visualization (Counterfeit): Is imagining what you desire to bring into existence. This is counterfeit to what Christ gives us when we come to believe in Him as our personal Savior which is “Faith” and trust in Jesus Christ and His Word – (Hebrews 11:1, Mark 11:24, Psalm 37:4-11)

Faith (Truth): “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

Assurance of Salvation (Truth):
 ^“But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: ⁹ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Prayer (Truth): “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  Mark 11:24

Meditation (Counterfeit)– “Meditation can be defined as a practice where an individual uses a technique, such as focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity, to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.” Wikipedia

Meditating on Jesus Christ and His Word (Truth): But God has told us to meditate not on an object, but the person, Jesus Christ revealed through His Word ( Bible). He also tells us to think on things that are worthy of our attention which produces faith and hope.

“I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word. Psalm 119:15-16

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8

Seeking after God’s Wisdom

And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:28

Jesus Christ is Real:
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.  The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.  We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
We write this to make our joy complete”. 1 John 1: 1-4

Only Jesus Christ Can Open Our Eyes to the Truth

Dear Ones, if you acknowledge you sin, and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you, believing Jesus Christ was crucified and took on the punishment for your sins, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you have past from death to life and will be saved from the wrath of God and experience eternal life. His Spirit will dwell within you guiding you and teaching you all you need to know until His coming.
(Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 Corinthians 15: 51-58)
