Luke 10:38-42
After Thanksgiving my son asked us to join his family at SeaWorld for the evening Christmas Celebration. I was delighted to hear this because they told me how Christ was lifted up in the festive programs throughout the Park.
SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida has a Christmas Celebration where Jesus Christ is truly celebrated. Wherever we went we could hear Christmas Carols sung and the lighted trees dancing to the music. It is a Christmas wonderland with all the trimmings of glorious lights, music, programs and events telling the story of His birth.
Even the killer whales in the Shamu Stadium were jumping to the tune of Christmas carols with the background display of the Holy Night.
We warmed ourselves by the fire pit and drank Hot Chocolate and ate S’mores dazzled by the lights and the music surrounding us.
The Ice Skating Program was magical and represented the Holiday Season with festive costumes and performances. Then following the program was the most beautiful display of fireworks I had ever witnessed. There was so much creativity in the sounds and the colors and graphic displays.
We walked through the Polar Express and experienced the movie first-hand. It was as though we were walking the same route as the children when they became lost and almost missed Santa’s departure on Christmas Eve.
But the most beautiful gift of all, upon reflection was time spent with family. I opened that present with excitement and joy
Back in the hotel on the day of our departure, our grandson, Tyler wanted to hang-out with us for a while, so I went to the recreation area where we could play Ping-Pong, and just have fun.
As Tyler and I were hitting the ball back and forth, he surprised me by saying,
“I just love being with my family.”
He could not have given me a greater gift than those words unabashedly spoken.
Truly, the birth of Christ was lifted up in this Christmas celebration. And the time spent with my family will never lose its glow.

My family went to Seaworld Orlando last night and I was presently surprised that they were not afraid to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas openly. Jesus has been removed from Christmas by most all “corporate companies.” Thank you so much Seaworld for not giving into to this nonsense. I feel everyone has their right to express whatever religion they choose and it was so refreshing to see Seaworld not coward out and at the same time not go overboard allowing for people who believe in Jesus to enjoy and anyone else with other beliefs to still enjoy.
The Sea World visit sounded as if a tiny piece of heaven was sent. Family, our heritage, an incredible gift.
Thank you Father for the ultimate gift of Salvation through your Son, and our precious families that we are able to share our experiences with. Praising You through your Son Jesus, Amen.
