God’s Inner Compass

“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”Proverbs 14:12

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.” John 12:32

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

It was a beautiful day and my husband and I decided to take a walk on the pier along Cape Coral’s river. Suddenly, I looked up and noticed two jet streams intersecting across the sky. It appeared like a cross. Then I began to think of what that cross really means and what Jesus meant when He said, “If I be lifted up I will draw all people to me”. There lifted up from the earth was God’s answer for the whole world to see; His Son, hanging suspended between heaven and earth two thousand years ago making all provision and direction for our life.

Before the compass, men relied on stars for direction. Wise men who were seeking God wanting to know where the Savior would be born followed  the Star to find Him in Bethlehem.

A compass is like a cross with two paths intersecting. There are four directions in which to go. The magnetic point of a compass will always point to the direction that is up. Jesus is like that magnet drawing us up to Himself, the only way to God.

All of us have sinned, headed in the wrong direction away from God. We are like lost sheep not knowing where to go. But Jesus is the “Great Shepherd” who laid down His life for all sheep- making a pathway to heaven’s door.

As far as the East is from the West is how far God has removed our sins from us. And whoever believes in His Son and follows, is lead directly to His Home.

(Psalm 103:12, John 14:1-6)crucifix

“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

When you find God’s direction through Jesus Christ, you will receive His Holy Spirit, His Inner Compass for Life.
